“Laboring under the sun” reflects the futility and frustration of human efforts when disconnected from TMH’s purpose. Ecclesiastes 2:18-23 describes how the author, traditionally believed to be King Solomon, laments the meaningless toil and labor under the sun, as everything achieved must eventually be left to others. This passage is suggesting that work itself is a lie, and that laboring solely for earthly gains without a higher purpose leads to emptiness. The Word encourages us to find meaning in our work by aligning it with TMH’s will, as true fulfillment comes from serving Him and others, rather than chasing after temporary, worldly achievements.
